** The United States faces Belgium today in the World Cup, looking to advance to further play. You can hear the match live on ESPN 850 WRUF starting at 3:30pm.
** At Wimbledon, men’s top seed Novak Djokovic and defending champ Andy Murray won fourth round matches on Monday. The women’s four seed Agnieszka Radwanska lost in a now wide open field. Today, Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are among those scheduled for action.
** In baseball, the suddenly resurgent Tampa Bay Rays beat the New York Yankees 4-3 in 12 innings on Monday giving them five wins in their last six games. Atlanta beat the New York Mets 5-3 and Miami was off; the Marlins play Philadelphia tonight.
** In NBA news, Jason Kidd is now officially the new coach of the Milwaukee Bucks after the Bucks traded two second round picks to the New Jersey Nets to get him. The Bucks also fired Larry Drew in the process.
** The Orlando Magic waive veteran guard Jameer Nelson to save salary cap space and get younger as well. He was the longest tenured member of the team.
** Gator pitcher Logan Shore was named a Freshman All American by Baseball America after a 7-4 season with a 2.16 ERA.
** The annual Gator football and volleyball Fan Day has been set for August 16th in the O’Connell Center.
