On tap this week, the 11th ranked Gator volleyball team will meet its first two ranked opponents of the 2014 campaign when Florida heads to Tully Gym Thursday night for a clash with eighth ranked FSU in Tallahassee, for the only meeting between the two squads this season. The match up serves as a rematch for the Gators, whose 2013 campaign ended at the hands of the Seminoles in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators opened the 2014 season an undefeated 3-0 after wins against Georgia Southern (3-0), Idaho (3-0) and now 24th ranked Oklahoma (3-2) at UF’s Active Ankle Challenge this past weekend. The Seminoles head into the contest having defeated then seventh ranked Nebraska in Lincoln and Iowa State in Ames, Iowa. The
Gators come into the match up leading the all-time series, 36-18 (29-4 under head coach Mary Wise). Following the match up against the Seminoles, the No. 3 Texas Longhorns come to Gainesville Saturday for the first of two meetings between the two powerhouses this season. The match versus FSU is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and you can listen on ESPN 850 WRUF starting at 5:50 p.m.
