** The Gator football team has lost another player for the season after freshman cornerback J.C. Jackson suffers a shoulder injury that requires surgery.
** In college football tonight, BYU takes on Houston and former Gator assistant Dan McCarney has his North Texas team taking on Louisiana Tech.
** One NFL game tonight as the Baltimore Ravens, having to deal with the Ray Rice situation, face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
** The NFL has consistently said it did not have video of Ray Rice punching his then girlfriend but a law enforcement official quoted by the Associated Press says he sent the video to the NFL five months ago. Some have called for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to be fired over the incident.
** Two area high school football games tonight as Eastside hosts Ocala Trinity Catholic and St. Francis hosts Florida Deaf.
** In baseball, Atlanta beats Washington 6-2 and now earn a day off. Milwaukee stops Miami 4-1 and New York beats Tampa Bay 8-5. The Rays and Marlins will complete their series with Milwaukee and New York tonight.
** The Kansas City Royals have reclaimed first place in the AL Central after beating Detroit 3-0. Oakland and Detroit are the AL wild card leaders in a very tight race. San Francisco and Pittsburgh are the wild card leaders in the NL.
