** The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0 on the season after a come from behind 30-27 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football. The Colts fall to 0-2 and will face Jacksonville next while Philadelphia will play Washington.
** Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been reinstated to the team after not playing last week while child abuse charges were filed against him. Now reports from Texas allege text messages between Peterson and the mother of another child he has with her say that Peterson admitted he hit the child. He has not been charged in that alleged incident.
** In baseball, the Los Angeles Angels become the first team to reach the playoffs this year after a win over Seattle last night. LA is in the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
** In other baseball, Miami downs the New York Mets 6-5; Tampa Bay edges the New York Yankees 1-0 and Atlanta loses 4-2 to Washington. Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom struck out the first eight hitters of the game, tying a record set in 1986 by pitcher Jim Deshaies.
** The Gator football team is now preparing for a big SEC game Saturday at Alabama. Another key league game has Mississippi State at LSU.
