The Eastside Rams (1-3, 1-0) football team got its first win of the season on Thursday night, overwhelming the Belleview Rattlers 41-22.
The Rams also got their first district win. Eastside had losses to Buchholz, Gainesville, and Ocala Trinity Catholic heading into Thursday night.
“It feels good,” said Eastside head coach Jeff Parker on winning their first ball game of the year. “We played the first three games to get ready for our district. I thought our guys came out and played well tonight. It’s still early in the season so we got some stuff to clean up.”
The Rams were led by senior quarterback Landon Rogers, who tosses for 212 yards and one touchdown while also running for two touchdowns.
From here, Eastside will continue district play when they take on the North Marion Colts next week.
“They’re a great team. They’ve got a new coach – I don’t know much about him, but they got athletes down there,” Parker said. “It’s always a war between us.”
