Steelers Keep Jaguars Winless, Former Gators Talk About Tennessee Win
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Blake Bortles made his first NFL start at home but could not pull out the win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, losing 17-9. The Jaguars
(0-5) now have the worst record in the NFL. Bortles completed 22-of-36 passes for 191 yards, with two interceptions, and no touchdowns. Early in the fourth quarter, Bortles had a pass intended for wide receiver Allen Hurns intercepted and returned for a touchdown, sealing the win for Pittsburgh. Kicker Josh Scobee kicked three field goals to score all of Jacksonville’s points. The Jags will look to get their first win next Sunday when they travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans. ** ** ** With the Steelers visiting the Sunshine State, former Gators Maurkice Pouncey and Marcus Gilbert gave their thoughts on Florida’s recent 10-9 win at Tennessee. “The guys went out there and played great ball,” said Gilbert, Pittsburgh’s starting right tackle. “Two great teams battling it out – just glad to see us come out with a victory and I’m glad to see us beat Tennessee.” “Great win for them, it was tough,” Jaguars starting safety and former Gator Josh Evans added. “It’s always a tough game in the SEC.” The former Gators were impressed by the play of freshman quarterback Treon Harris.
