Despite being let go on Sunday as Gator football coach, Will Muschamp today went about his business, talking about Florida’s next football game against Eastern Kentucky while also talking about his dismissal.
Muschamp said some of the same things he said yesterday in a statement about why he was dismissed.
“You’ve got to win games. We didn’t get that done. Very disappointed and frustrated that didn’t happen.”
Muschamp added however that despite not winning enough games, some things did get better.
“But this locker room is better than it was four years ago, there is no question about that and where we’ve come. I appreciate our players and how they have handled a very difficult season.”
UF athletic director Jeremy Foley spoke to the process of selecting a new coach.
“We would obviously like an individual that’s been successful on the offensive side of the ball. I think obviously that’s what the Gator Nation wants and we see that and that’s what we’re certainly going to try to provide for them,” Foley said.
Foley added the search would begin immediately but that there is no specific timetable to find a replacement for Muschamp.
