Gator Swimming Seniors Go Out With A Bang
Both Gator men’s and women’s swim teams presented their seniors with a win in their last dual meet of the season on Saturday. Both teams won by a very comfortable margin; the men winning 195.5-99.5 and the women winning 187-105 against SEC foe Tennessee.
The women continued to establish their dominance against Tennessee with an all-time record of 27-2. However, the all time record for the men against Tennessee is much closer. The men just narrowly lead the series 22-20.
Junior Natalie Hinds won both her 50 free and her 100 fly events. Both the men and women’s 200 yard medley relays placed first to start off the meet on a positive note. As the meet went on, both of the 400 free relays also took first.
Senior Matt Elliott and freshman Caeleb Dressel were awarded SEC Athlete of the Week awards on Tuesday.
The Gators travel to Auburn for SEC Championships February 17-21.
