A historic NBA win, good news for Gator football, bad news for Gator men’s basketball and more in our Tuesday Sports Update…

** Florida men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan says guard Michael Frazier II has a high ankle sprain and he could miss Thursday’s home game against Ole Miss.  Frazier got hurt in the Kentucky loss on Sunday.

** Good news for Gator football in that defensive lineman Ce Ce Jefferson finally faxes in his official letter of intent.   He is now officially a Gator.

** An historic win for San Antonio Spurs coach Greg Popovich as he gets career win number 1,000 in a 95-93 win over Indiana last night.

** Bad news again for the Orlando Magic as they lose 96-80 to Washington.   Better news for Miami as they down New York 109-95.

** In a match up of the top two teams in women’s basketball on Monday, second ranked Connecticut romps over number one South Carolina 87-62.

** The revamped San Diego Padres sign free agent pitcher James Shields to a free agent deal.   Shields will get a four year deal worth $75 million.
