Friday Sports Update (2/20)

Lots of Gator sports, high school hoops regionals, Daytona 500, NBA trade deadline and more in our Friday Sports Update…

** Lots of Gator sports this weekend; in town, Gator softball hosts a tournament and Gator baseball hosts Miami.   Gator men’s basketball is at LSU while the women are on the road as well.  Gator swimming is at the SEC Championships.

** The Florida women’s basketball team loses a heartbreaker at home Thursday night, falling to Vanderbilt 76-75 in overtime.

** The Daytona 500 runs this weekend with Jeff Gordon on the pole.   Two qualifying races last night were won by Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jimmie Johnson.

** In SEC men’s hoops last night, Ole Miss beats Mississippi State 71-65.

** High school boy’s regional basketball action takes place this weekend.   Hawthorne, Gainesville High, Eastside and Williston are trying to advance.

** The NFL Combine is going on and nearly 10 former Gator football players were invited to the event to try out before NFL scouts.
