Florida Women’s Hoops In SEC Tournament Play Tonight

The Florida women’s basketball team opens up its play in the SEC Tournament tonight with a game against Auburn.

Florida is the 12 seed in the tournament while Auburn is the 13 seed.   The Gators come in at 13-16 overall while Auburn is 12-17 overall.

Florida had just five SEC wins this year (Auburn only had three) but one of the Gator wins was against Auburn 63-50 at Auburn back in January.   Florida has also beaten Auburn five straight times.

Under head coach Amanda Butler, Florida is 5-7 in the SEC Tournament.

Auburn is arguably playing its best basketball now after starting the SEC season 0-13.   The Tigers have won their last three league games, beating Georgia, Vanderbilt and Alabama to ride some momentum going into the postseason.
