Gator Softball Moves To 24-0 With Wins
The top ranked Florida softball team remains unbeaten…but not before being severely tested in a tournament in California yesterday.
The Gators trailed second ranked Michigan 4-0 but rallied to beat the Wolverines 7-4. The Gators then ripped San Jose State 9-0.
Florida starting pitcher Delanie Gourley gave up four runs to the Wolverines but Aleshia Ocasio relieved and shut down Michigan the rest of the way to earn the win that moves her record to 8-0.
Florida scored three runs in the third inning to get back in the game and tied it in the fifth before taking the lead on a two run double by Kelsey Stewart, who would later score on a bunt single by Kirsti Merritt.
The Gators continue play in California today in a tournament where they will face nationally ranked Arizona and Oregon again.
