The SEC men’s basketball tournament starts today, more teams in the Big Dance, NFL free agency starts off with a bang and more in our Wednesday Sports Update…
** The SEC men’s basketball tournament starts today in Nashville, Tennessee. Auburn faces Mississippi State and Missouri takes on South Carolina. Florida plays tomorrow against Alabama.
** Four more teams punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament with conference championship wins last night. Gonzaga, Robert Morris, Valparaiso and North Dakota State all are going dancing.
** The Gator lacrosse team falls in overtime to Syracuse yesterday at home 14-13. The Gators fall to 6-2 on the season while the Florida men’s tennis team also falls to Ohio State 4-1.
** Florida football will begin spring practice in a few days and Gator coach Jim McElwain says the team will have some depth issues going into practice, especially on the offensive line and at linebacker. Running back depth could be an issue as well.
** NFL free agency officially kicked off yesterday with a flurry of activity. Lots of players went with new teams and some trades were made as well and more could be coming soon.
