Gatornationals roars into Gainesville, SEC Tournament hoops, top ranked Gator baseball wins and more in our Thursday Sports Update…

** The NHRA Gatornationals begins today and runs through the weekend at Gainesville Raceway.   Thousands will be on hand to watch the best in NHRA compete.

** The Gator men’s basketball team plays in the SEC Tournament today at 1 against Alabama.   Florida’s postseason hopes could hinge on whether or not it wins today.

** In the SEC Tournament last night, Auburn downs Mississippi State 74-68 and South Carolina beats Missouri 63-54.   Auburn now plays Texas A&M while Carolina takes on Ole Miss.

** The top ranked Gator baseball team beats Fairfield 6-1 Wednesday to move to 16-2 on the year; next is the SEC opener against Tennessee on Friday.

** Gator women’s basketball coach Amanda Butler has been given a contract extension through 2019.   Butler has averaged 19 wins a season during her eight year tenure but won just 13 this past year.

** In the NBA, Orlando loses 97-91 to Milwaukee and Miami downs Brooklyn 104-98.
