** New Gator men’s basketball coach Michael White will be formally introduced at a press conference at 11 am today; ESPN 850 WRUF will carry it live.
** The Florida softball team is the overall number one national seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Florida will host Florida A&M Friday at 6pm; Hofstra and Florida Atlantic are the other teams in Florida’s NCAA Regional.
** The season is over for Gator lacrosse after they lose to North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament.
** At the TPC, Rickie Fowler overcomes a five shot deficit with six holes to play and gets a playoff win at the event.
** Jimmie Johnson wins the NASCAR race in Kansas at a rain delayed event. He beat Kevin Harvick to take the checkered flag.
** In the NBA playoffs, the LA Clippers go up 3-1 against the Houston Rockets with a 128-95 win and LeBron James hits a buzzer beater to lift Cleveland to an 86-84 win that squares their playoff series with Chicago at 2-2. Today, Atlanta at Washington and Golden State at Memphis.
** In the NHL playoffs, the New York Rangers even their series with Washington at 3-3 with a 3-2 win. Anaheim eliminates Calgary with a 3-2 win.
** In MLB action, Washington downs Atlanta 5-4 to sweep a three game series. San Francisco edges Miami 3-2 and Texas downs Tampa Bay 2-1. Today, the New York Yankees are at Tampa Bay while Atlanta is at Cincinnati and Miami is at the LA Dodgers.
