Gator Football Hosts East Carolina

September 12, 2015

The Florida football team will look to improve to 2-0 this season when it hosts the East Carolina Pirates at 7 pm Saturday.

Florida comes off a 61-13 win at home over New Mexico State while the Pirates at home downed Towson 28-20.

Even though the teams met in a bowl game back in January, both teams are much different now from what they were then in many respects.   Florida has a new head coach and a new attitude and the Pirates lost some talented players from that team including receiver Justin Hardy and quarterback Shane Carden.

Florida is hoping to get safety Keanu Neal back from injury for this game but he is still doubtful to play, as is offensive lineman Martez Ivey who is also hurt.   Florida does get back safety Marcus Maye and linebacker Alex McCalister after they were suspended for the opener.
