Florida Volleyball Loses on the Road to Missouri

The Florida volleyball team lost its second straight SEC match up Wednesday night as they fall in five sets to Missouri on the road.  This despite the fact that Florida won the first two sets of the night, only to lose the last three.

Florida won the first set 25-22 and the second 25-20 but Missouri turned the game around in the third set, defeating the Gators 25-21 while taking the fourth set 25-19.  The fifth and final set of the game was won by the Tigers 15-10.

Missouri’s team statistics showed in part why they defeated Florida.

Hitting percentage: Mizzou .230 Florida .208

Blocks: Mizzou 11 Florida 13

After this second SEC loss, Florida is now 1-2 in their conference and 9-3 overall.  The Gators will be on the road again this Sunday to face Arkansas who is 2-0 in the SEC and 12-2 overall.  The match is set for 4:00 PM and live coverage begins at 3:50 PM on ESPN Gainesville 95.3 FM.
