Monday Night Football Week 5

October 13, 2015

Kevin Hoffman/Jake Roth / USA TODAY Sports This week’s Monday Night Football match up is a battle of two 2-2 teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to San Diego to face the Chargers. Mike Vick will start for the Steelers for the second straight week at quarterback for the injured Ben Roethlisberger. Last

week, in a loss to Baltimore, Vick was an efficient 19-of-26 passing, but only threw for 124 yards and failed to convert on a couple of fourth down conversions at the end of the game. The Steelers have not won a game on the West Coast since 2005. However, they have won four of their last five games on the road while San Diego has been only been 1-3 at home dating back to last season. The Chargers have no issue at quarterback, as at the end of week 4, Phillip Rivers lead the league in passing yards. Also, tight end Antonio Gates, who had 12 touchdowns last year, makes his return from suspension and will make his debut for the Chargers this season. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin spoke highly of Gates. “He’s a dynamic guy, tough physical match up in a lot of ways, we have to put together a good plan to minimize his impact on the game.” The game will air tonight at 8:30 on ESPN.
