A battle of a couple teams still struggling to find their identity will match up in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday; as Vanderbilt hosts Missouri.
Missouri is coming off of a tough 9-6 loss at Geoprgia while the Commodores still have yet to win a game in SEC play, sitting at 0-3 in the SEC East. Missouri, the two time defending SEC East champions, is looking to make a late second half push to try and catch SEC East leader Florida.
Missouri will be without quarterback Maty Mauk who remains suspended for a violation of team rules. This is the fourth straight week Mauk has not been the quarterback for the Tigers. Missouri’s Drew Lock has taken the reps in replacement of Mauk; he’s 63 for 118 on the year with three touchdowns and three interceptions. The Tigers have lost three out of their last four games including a game to Florida a couple weeks ago. Luckily for the Tigers Vanderbilt is in the same boat.
Vanderbilt fought hard a few weeks ago to almost knock Ole Miss off in their own building. Since that week the Commodores are 1-2 and are still winless in the SEC. Vanderbilt hopes to have fixed things in the passing attack coming into this weeks home game. Vandy quarterback Johnny McCrary had three interceptions in a losing effort against South Carolina last week.
