Miami Heat beat the Rockets, Orlando Magic falls to the Bulls.
Sunday was not a bad night in Miami…The Heat got their second win of the season, beating the Houston Rockets 109-89. Houston started with a bang, scoring 14 points in the first four minutes and actually led by 21 points in the first half. The Heat missed their first 10 three-point attempts. Miami fired back in the second half, finally taking the lead when Chris Bosh brought the score to 85-83 with 8:11 left in the fourth quarter. Bosh says the team will be down sometimes, but you have to keep competing no matter what. Hassan Whiteside was a star in this game, scoring 25 points for Miami. The Heat are now 2-1 and look to stay undefeated at home as they host Atlanta Tuesday. The Orlando Magic lost their third game of the season as the Chicago Bulls took a 92-87 victory. Chicago led by 14 points at halftime and by 12 by the third quarter. Chicago’s point guard, Derrick Rose is still playing with blurred vision as he recovers from a broken orbital bone but Pau Gasol and Niko Mirotic each scored 16 points for the Bulls to help get the win. With three minutes left in the game, Orlando cut the lead to one but it could not get over the hump. Although Orlando made a nice stretch in the fourth quarter, coach Scott Skiles says the Magic needed more energy. Shooting guard Evan Fournier led the Magic with 19 points, and Nikola Vucevic added 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. The Magic will continue their three
game road trip in New Orleans Tuesday.
