The Miami Hurricanes were gifted a victory over the Duke Blue Devils in Week 9 under interim head coach Larry Scott. If they can build off this victory in such a turbulent season, they could earn a bowl berth before having to close their season with North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Pitt.
But first they must face Virginia who will be bringing their 13 road game losing streak to Miami. Virginia embattled head coach Mike London needs this win along with two others to reach .500 for the season; good news for the Cavaliers is that their defense playing much better since bottoming out at the end of September.
Canes starting quarterback Brad Kaaya returned to practice earlier this week and has a chance to play on Saturday after being out with concussion symptoms. However, backup QB Malik Rosier made good use of receivers Stacy Coley and Herb Waters in the Duke win, completing 20-of-29 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns and finished with an impressive QB rating of 163.6.
Running back Joseph Yearby could also be the focal point of the offensive attack as he averages more than five yards a carry. Virginia has given up 33 points a game so far this season, which ranks them 98th out of 128 teams in the country. With a Miami team that averages 29 points a game including a goose egg against Clemson, it could be a long day for the Virginia defense.
Game time on Saturday for this ACC Costal matchup is 3:00pm from Sun Life Stadium.
