This weekend all Florida NFL teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5), Miami Dolphins (4-5), and Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6) came out on top.
The Buccaneers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 10-6 in the last minute of the game. This is the first time since 2005 the Bucs won a game by scoring 10 points or fewer. The Bucs took their only lead of the game when quarterback Jameis Winston faked a handoff to Doug Martin and circled right end all alone to score a touch down. The one yard TD run was one play after a defensive holding call that took away a fumble that might have allowed the Cowboys to hold on to a 6-3 lead.
Tampa Bay head coach Lovie Smith says this is was a great win for the Bucs.
The Miami Dolphins rallied to beat the Eagles 20-19 at Philadelphia with the defense leading the way. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh had one of his best performances as a Dolphin with a sack, three tackles for loss, and three QB hurries. After former Gator Caleb Sturgis made a 37-yard field goal for the Eagles making the score 20-19 it looked like the Eagles would steal a win, but Miami safety Reshad Jones intercepted a pass from Eagles QB Mark Sanchez in the end zone ending the threat. Suh says the Dolphins have to battle to win every game.
The Jacksonville Jaguars were able to pull off a win against the Baltimore Ravens (22-20) with a last second miracle. Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles was sacked on the final play of the game by defensive lineman Elvis Dumervil but he was called for a 15 yard facemask penalty that gave the Jags one untimed down to end the game. Jason Myers kicked a 53-yard field goal for a 22-20 victory.
Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley says the offense and defense were making plays all afternoon.
It was a win that was two years in the making because the Jaguars had lost 13 games in a row on the road, last winning at Cleveland on December 1, 2013.
This is the first time since Week 14, 2013 that all Florida NFL teams secured a win in the same week.
