Seahawks Advance After Missed Field Goal
The temperature for yesterday’s NFC wild card game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings kicked off at about -6 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the coldest game in Vikings history. Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman compared the temperature of the game to sitting inside of a freezer, but also commended both teams on their play. It took three quarters for the Seahawks to warm up and score all 10 of their points in the 4th quarter.

The Vikings had the opportunity to go up 12-10 in the final 22 seconds of the game, but kicker Blair Walsh missed the go ahead 27 yard field goal. Walsh says that he isn’t sure how that happened but he completely takes responsibly for not doing his job.
Minnesota lead the entire game until the 4th quarter, with the only points coming from Walsh scoring 3 field goals. Viking’s Head Coach Mike Zimmer says that he has never been more proud of a team and that they played hard enough to win. But it wasn’t enough. In the 4th Quarter Russell Wilson threw a short touch down pass to Doug Baldwin, then a couple minutes later Steven Hauschka added a 46 yard go ahead field goal.
The Seahawks had a rough day on the offensive side but their defense kept them in the game. Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson says crazy things happen in the play offs, the defense was lights out and they kept the Seahawks in the game. After a sloppy wild card game the Seahawks pulled out a 10-9 win over the Vikings.
