College Basketball Preview: Ole Miss at LSU for SEC Match-Up

January 13, 2016

The Louisiana State University Tigers (9-6) will host the Ole Miss Rebels (12-3) in their only meeting of the regular season for a SEC college basketball match-up tonight.

Ole Miss is looking to extend its two game conference winning streak while LSU is looking to make a turnaround after losing to Florida 68-62 this past Saturday.

The Rebels have won 9 of their past 10 games and have a 11-5 record in road games over the past two years. In their last meeting on the road with the Tigers, the Rebels fell short and suffered a 73-63 loss. Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy says he is very impressed with LSU and thinks they are a good team.

Ole Miss will look to senior guard Stefan Moody for a win as he leads in the SEC and is ranked sixth nationally in scoring at 23.9 points per game this season. Moody has scored 20-plus points in 10 straight games, which is the best streak in school history.

LSU will look to freshman forward Ben Simmons who ranks first in the SEC in rebounding at 13.1 rebounds per game and is third in scoring with 20.6 points per game. LSU coach Johnny Jones says Simmons is a great team player and is able to find opportunities during a game.

Tip-off for the SEC match-up is set for 9:00pm.
