Panthers Advance to Super Bowl After Dominate Win
The Carolina Panthers punched their ticket to Super Bowl 50 after a dominate 49-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC championship game. Cam Newton had a big game for the Panthers, throwing two touchdowns and running for two more. Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera says he liked the energy the team came out with, and they owned it.
Cardinals Quarterback Carson Palmer threw four interceptions and fumbled the ball twice. Carolina’s defense completely shut down Arizona and dominated the game from start to finish. Cardinals Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald says they lost as a team, and collectively they didn’t do enough to win the game.
The Panthers had a 24-7 lead going into halftime, and it didn’t get much better for the Cardinals, scoring only 8 points in the fourth quarter.
Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton says the team kept their eyes focused on the prize, the prize of the super bowl, and that they aren’t just going to take pictures, they are looking to win. The 15-1 Carolina Panthers will advance to the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history.
The Panthers will look to win their first Super Bowl when they face the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium on February 7th.
