The UF women’s basketball team (16-4, 4-3 SEC) is gearing up to face Arkansas (9-11, 4-3 SEC) tonight on the road as they look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Missouri on Sunday.
The Gators won their previous meeting against the Razorbacks last season at the O’Connell Center and have dominated the season series, 24-9, so far. Florida is 9-5 when the two teams meet in Fayetteville.
The Razorbacks will try to get back on track after having their three game winning streak derailed by Auburn last weekend. Junior forward Jessica Jackson will look to lead the way for Arkansas again as she has for most of the season. Jackson is the only player for the Razorbacks averaging double digit scoring (17.3 ppg).
Arkansas is averaging 55 points per game and is shooting 35 percent on the season.
For the Gators, their leading scorer in SEC games guard Eleanna Christinaki and leading rebounder Ronni Williams will look to provide the energy needed to jump start Florida’s offensive attack. Williams has six double, doubles on the season and has reached double figures scoring in seven of the last eight games.
A victory for Florida against the Razorbacks would tie for the third best 21 game start in program history, trailing only the 19-2 record of the 2008-09 and 2000-01 teams.
Tip-off for the game is set for 8:00 p.m. at you can here on ESPN Gainesville 95.3.
