The big story of the day was junior Mollie Stevens who led the Gators to a victory with five goals, the most she has ever scored as a Gator. Senior Lauren Lea, sophomore Shayna Pirreca and senior Carly Ross all had two goals for the Gators as well while Devon Schneider, Sydney Pirreca and Taylor Bresnahan all had one goal each.
Junior Sammi Burgess led the team with three assists along with Lauren Lea, Allie Pavinelli, Shayna Pirreca, Carly Ross and Devon Schneider helping out as well. Goalkeeper Mary-Sean Wilcox had a total of three saves in the first half while Haley Hicklen had two saves after taking over for Wilcox in the second half.
Florida head coach Amanda O’Leary seemed proud of her girls with this big win today and gives credit to Mollie Stevens for her team leadership.
Next up for Gator lacrosse is a match up against the Michigan Wolverines at home on February 6th at one o’clock.
