Third-ranked Gators Women’s Tennis Prepare for No. 15 Baylor

The No. 3 University of Florida women’s tennis is hosting 29th-ranked Baylor on February 13. The match will be played at the Ring Tennis Complex at noon.

The Gator’s are now 3-0 after a successful week.  The orange and blue beat their in-state rival FSU on Thursday and took down then fourth-ranked USC on Sunday. UF took an early lead 1-0 against USC, grabbing the doubles point in two close matches. The gators then continued their streak and swept the singles play, beating the Trojans 7-0.

On the other hand, Baylor has fallen 4-3 this season. The Baylor Bear’s suffered a setback against No. 46 Washington on Sunday. For the second time in 2016, each of the BU duos dropped the doubles point.

Baylor will be heading on the road for a two-match road swing through the state of Florida. Starting with the Gators and then traveling to take on the Miami Hurricanes.

Florida’s Head Coach Roland Thornqvist says he is impressed with the team, but each game will be an opportunity to get better.
