Gators Softball Takes Dominance Out West

No. 1 Florida Softball is in California this week to compete in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.   The team will join UCLA, Nebraska, Washington, NC State, and Utah in Palm Springs.

The Gators are already showing their dominance early this year.  The team is 11-0 for the season, outscoring opponents 90-4.

Head Coach Tim Walton is pleased with the team’s pitching so far this season.  The Gators are coming off of a 5-game sweep at the Diamond 9 Tournament last weekend, where they outscored opponents 36-3.

On Thursday night, the Gators will face (no. 11) UCLA (7-3) at 8:30 p.m. EST and NC State (5-4) at 11:30 p.m. EST in a double-header.   Another double-header is set for the Gators on Friday at 6 p.m. EST against (No.9) Washington (9-1) and at 8:30 p.m. EST against Nebraska (8-1).  The Gators will conclude tournament play Saturday against Utah (8-3) at 12:30 p.m. EST.

Broadcast Information: All five games will be aired on WGGG-AM & WMOP-AM/FM.
