Tampa Bay Lightning Snap Three-Game Losing Streak
The Tampa Bay Lightning shutout the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-0 last night. Goalie Ben Bishop made 37 saves and Center Steven Stamkos scored two goals as the Lightning snapped their three game losing streak. Bishop has 16 NHL shutouts and picked up his fourth of the season last night, and Stamkos now has 30 goals on the season.
Stamkos says Bishop is one of the best in the league and he has proved that this year, he always gives the team a chance to win.
There were boo birds, actual birds, and a whole lot of chirps tonight, but Bish couldn't be rattled. #TBLvsCBJ pic.twitter.com/yhmgqG3z21

After his 14th shutout for Tampa Bay, Bishop says he was trying to stay big, there were not many second opportunities and he has a great team in front of him.
Stamkos recorded the first goal of the game in the second, and the Lightning added three more goals in the third, with two of them being shorthanded. This was the first time since 2003 that Tampa Bay has scored two shorthand goals in a game. The Lightning finished the game with 37 shots on goal, their eighth highest of the season and improved to 40-24-5 on the season.
The Lightning are now tied for second place with the Florida Panthers in the Atlantic. Next up for Tampa Bay is a road game against the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
