In the last meeting against the Dolphins the Gators fell short in a 3-1 game. The Gators have won seven out of the last nine games played between the teams. While the Gators are coming off of a weekend sweep against Texas A&M, the Dolphins only got one win out of their three-game weekend series against Creighton.
One player to watch for the Dolphins is junior Austin Hayes. Hayes has eight home-runs, two triples and nine doubles on the season. Head coach Tim Montez believes his improvements on the season have been incredible especially after moving him up in the batting order. Also on the defensive side keep an eye out for senior infielder JJ Gould who recently earned Pepsi student athlete of the month for March. Montez says his pitching staff has also been consistent this season.
This game will mark Arjona’s third start of the season and he will be looking to earn his third win of the season. He has also has two saves, 31 strikeouts, and averages 7.8 strikeouts per game.
First pitch is set for 7 p.m. and you can hear live coverage on ESPN Gainesville 95.3 FM starting at 6:55PM.
