Gator Baseball Overall Number One National Seed In NCAA Baseball Tournament

The Florida Gator baseball team is the overall number one national seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament after the field was announced today on ESPNU. Florida will host four seed Bethune-Cookman, three seed Connecticut and two seed Georgia Tech in a NCAA Regional this weekend.

The Gators are matched up with the Tallahassee Regional which FSU is hosting; if UF and FSU win, the Seminoles would come to Gainesville for a Super Regional next weekend.

The other top eight national seeds are Louisville, Miami, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Clemson and LSU.  South Carolina, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt from the SEC are also hosting NCAA Regionals; no other SEC teams made the field as non-regional hosts.

Other teams from the state of Florida making the field are Stetson and Florida Atlantic.

Florida will play Bethune-Cookman Friday at 6 p.m. in the second game of the day at the Gainesville Regional.
