The Rams have been struggling so far, posting a winless record through four games and getting outscored by an average margin of 24 points. However, the team has been playing better lately, only losing by an average margin of three points in its last two games. During those two games, the team has played a lot better defensively, according to coach Ced Daniels.
Offensive line play continues to be a problem for the Rams, however. The team is averaging only 12 rushing yards per game and just two yards per carry. Daniels says he is a run-first coach, but because of the struggles of the team’s offensive line, he’s had to make adjustments to make his team’s offense a passing one. The Rams have used two quarterbacks this year with Carter Kutchko getting most of the snaps but Anthony Richardson also plays to give the offense a change of pace look for the defense.
The Colts are 2-2 on the year but they have been competitive for the most part, getting blown out in only one game against Ocala Vanguard by a score of 40-6. The Colts are averaging 15 points per game while allowing an average of 17 points per game. The Colts are coming off a one point loss to Gainesville High last week.
