The Florida Gator Volleyball celebrates after winning an exhausting point.

Preview: No. 11 Gator Volleyball Visits South Carolina

October 8, 2016

Florida volleyball treks to South Carolina for another SEC matchup Sunday. The Gators (13-2, 3-1 SEC) hope to add to their momentum after beating Tennessee a week ago.

The Gator offense hopes to be a force heading into Columbia. Florida racked up impressive numbers against their previous opponent, the Tennessee Volunteers. Both Alex Holston and Carli Snyder had double-doubles, and Allie Monserez had a career high 57.  Freshman middle Rachael Kramer had a career high 13 kills and 5 blocks. Five Gators scored double-digit points on their four-set victory.

The Gators have won 17 straight over South Carolina, but Head Coach Mary Wise says this year’s South Carolina team will be a challenge.

The Gamecocks (13-3, 1-3) lost on the road at Georgia and will be looking to add a win to their SEC resume. However, South Carolina will face a well-rested No. 1 ranked offense in the Gators (.336) after having a break this week from the usual Friday night match.
