Gator Volleyball Returns Home For SEC Bouts

The No.10 Gator volleyball team is back home this weekend as they look to take on Mississippi State on Friday and Georgia on Sunday. The Gators are sporting a strong 17-2 record overall and 5-1 in the conference.

On Tuesday, setter Allie Monserez was named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. The SEC also named teammate and middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan Defensive Player of the Week. A day later, Monserez was named ESPNW Player of the Week.

Alhassan had a few words to say on the returning home for the next two weeks and how to the team show how far they have come. Mississippi State is 11-10 and Georgia is 13-7.

Entering this weekend, Florida’s hitting continues to rank as the best in the nation (.323) including 14th in the country in kills per set (14.26). Monserez is leading the nation with 12.35 assist per set. Florida is 10th in the NCAA in assists per set (13.48) and defensively, the Gators check in at No. 10 with 2.89 blocks per set and  66th with 176.0 overall blocks.
