Buchholz Bobcats Take On Bartram Trail Bears In Second Round of Playoffs

In the Regional Semifinals of the 2016 Florida High School Playoff Class 7A tournament, the Buchholz Bobcats will take on the Bartram Trail Bears. The game will take place in a neutral site on Friday, November 18th at 7:30pm.

The Buchholz Bobcats (8-2) defeated the Hagerty Huskies 31-21 and the Bartram Trail Bears (7-4) defeated the Ocoee Knights last week in the Regional Quarterfinals round of the playoffs, leading them into this week’s playoff game.

Team Statistics

The Bartram Trail Bears are ahead of the Buchholz Bobcats in the running game, with an average of 196.5 yards per game. The Buchholz Bobcats are slightly behind the Bears in passing yards as well. The Bobcats have an average of 179.2  passing yards per game and the Bears have an average of 181.3 passing yards per game. Overall, the Bartram Trail Bears have an average of 377.8 total yards per game and the Buchholz Bobcats have an average of 305.1 total yards per game.

Key Players

The Bobcats will have to rely on quarterback Camden Orth, who has a total of 1,795 passing yards, 14 passing touchdowns and 121 pass completions. Senior running back Khauriee Sullivan’s will also be a key player for the Bobcats this game as he has a total of 617 yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. Sullivan is averaging 6 yards per carry.

The Bartram Trail Bears’ key players to look for in Friday’s game are Devin Ellison and Joey Gatewood. The sophomore running back Ellison has a total of 679 rushing yards, an average of 6.8 rushing yards per game, and 13 rushing touchdowns. Junior quarterback Joey Gatewood has a total of 503 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and 39 pass completions.

This will be their second matchup of the season. In October, Buchholz won 17-10 in an away conference game against Bartram Trail. Be sure to watch the game Friday night to see who will win their second matchup on the year. The winner will move on to the Regional Finals of the playoffs on November 25.
