Ravens End Dolphins Six Game Win Streak

The Miami Dolphins are now 7-5 after a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens(7-5) on Sunday that saw the end to their longest win-streak in 32 years. To make matters worse for Dolphins fans, it was a complete blowout with a final score of 38-6.

What Went Wrong?

The Ravens’ offense was on point. With LB Jelani Jenkins out with knee and hand injuries, the Dolphins’ defense was not. Ravens QB Joe Flacco had his best game of the season, going 36-of-47 (franchise record) and passing 381 yards for four touchdowns and just one interception. He connected with TE Dennis Pitta, WR Breshad Perriman—a 53-yard pass—and RB Terrance West to score. Three of Flacco’s TDs were before the half, with Justin Tucker also making a 55-yard field goal to give the Ravens 24-0 lead at halftime.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill just couldn’t answer with potentially his worst game of the season. He completed 29-of-40 attempts for 226 yards for one touchdown. He also racked up three interceptions. The Ravens’ defense was merciless, only allowing the Dolphins 62 rushing yards as a team. The only TD was an eight-yard pass to WR DeVante Parker in the fourth quarter, which was followed by a failed two-point conversion.

Looking Ahead

The Ravens may have seriously compromised Miami’s playoff hopes. The Dolphins are out of the second wild card spot with four games ahead. They remain at spot No. 2 in the AFC East and No. 13 in the NFL power rankings.

This Sunday they’ll face the Arizona Cardinals (5-6-1) at 1 PM at SunLife Stadium.
