Local High School Showdown: Creekside at Buchholz

Thursday night football is back with some local high schools. Buchholz high will host Creekside tomorrow night in a conference game at 7 p.m. The two teams are very similar and it’s looking to be a tight match-up.

Homecoming for Buchholz

The Buchholz Bobcats are coming off of a 31-21 loss against rival Gainesville High. Now the team must move on and prepare for the Creekside Knights during their Homecoming game. The Bobcats are currently 2-4, while the Knights are 4-3.

Nevertheless, Buchholz High is ready for Homecoming.

Buchholz Head Coach Mark Whittemore says the reason why his team lost to Gainesville High and what they need to work on in order to be successful in Thursday night’s match-up.

Coach Whittemore is still confident that his players will be successful throughout the season. As of now, every team the Bobcats have played have yet to lose a game.
Coach Whittemore says even with last weekend’s loss, he believes his team is still a possible playoff contender.

Creekside High School

Meanwhile, the Creekside Knights are coming off of a 49-13 win against Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Creekside’s only loss this season was against Ridgeview in Orange Park. Now the Knights must prepare to go up against Buchholz on unknown turf during their homecoming game.

Buchholz head coach Whittemore believes the two teams are very similar. He says the Bobcats need to live up to their strengths in order to win tomorrow’s game.

Up Next

After tomorrow’s game, the two teams will prepare for a Friday night match-up next week. Buchholz will head to Orange Park and go head to head with Oakleaf. Meanwhile, Creekside will also head to Orange Park, but to play Fleming Island High School.
