Gators Will Be in The Water for Their First Swim Invite This Week

After successful starts to the season, both the Men’s and Women’s Gators swim teams will compete in their first invite this weekend.

How Will the Georgia Invite Work?

The Georgia Invite is taking place from November 17th until November 19th. There will be five schools competing in the event, including Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Florida State. Every day of the invite runs the same way – preliminary sessions begin at 9:30 a.m., while the final session will take place at 5:30 p.m.

Men’s Season So Far

The Gators Men’s Swim team has been great to begin the season. Their record is currently 3-1, with the one loss being a tight matchup against Georgia. Unfortunately for Florida, Georgia will be at the invite, which hurts their chances to take the victory. However, considering how close their matchup was (156-144), they can definitely come out on top this time.

Women’s Season So Far

The women’s team has had similar results this season. Their record is an impressive 4-1, with one loss against top-seeded Virginia. A big advantage the women’s team has in this invite that the men do not is a big win against Georgia. The Gators women’s team defeated the Bulldogs 173.5-126.5 when they faced off earlier this year. This win should help the Gators build confidence heading into the invite as they know they have already defeated one of the competitors just a couple weeks ago.

Both the men’s and women’s Gators swim teams will be hopeful for a victory after a hard-fought three-day event.
