The Florida Gator lacrosse team beat the Arizona State Sun Devils 17-12 on Sunday at Donald R. Dizney stadium. This is their second meeting in history, with Florida leading 2-0 in the series. The Gators earned their second-straight victory to improve to 3-2 on the season. Ten Gators players scored to lead the team to victory in Florida’s Morgan’s Message game.

First Quarter
The Gators owned the first frame with four goals to the Sun Devils one. Florida’s offense was off to an early start with goals from Emily Heller and Emma LoPinto. It took Arizona State nearly half the quarter to respond with a goal. Maggi Hall became Florida’s 21st 100-point scorer after netting two goals that helped the Gators lead 4-1 after the first quarter.

Second Quarter
Arizona State broke into the second frame with three unanswered goals. The Gators struggled to get a point on the board but halfway through the quarter, Tayler Warehime helped Florida take the lead 5-4 with an assisted goal from Ashley Gonzalez.

LoPinto added another point to the board and Danielle Pavinelli took advantage of her free position shot to help the Gators close out the half with a 7-4 advantage.
Third Quarter
Arizona State made the first goal to start the half but then the back of the cage was met by three Gators consecutively. They helped boost the Gators to 10-5. The Sun Devils snipped the lead by two but Gonzalez and Pavinelli netted two shots to take the lead yet again. The Sun Devils made one final shot to end the third frame down 12-9.

Fourth Quarter
Florida tallied five goals in the final quarter. Heller logged two goals while Hall, Gianna Monaco and Tighe added one each to help the Gators secure the win. Heller and Hall had an impressive three goal performance each.
