The azaleas are blooming and the pine trees swaying. The greens are speeding up and the chicken sandwiches in their green wrappers will soon be on the grills.
Yes, next week is The Masters, one of the many sporting events I look forward to like a kid waiting for Christmas (I have a problem and its name is cable).
The Caesar’s odds are out as to who might win and there are some interesting picks here. The High Five looks at the most interesting ones:
1. Tiger Woods
He is 55-1 and there will be people betting on him. I don’t think there is another tournament he can win with his physical issues. And this is the toughest walk in golf. Incredibly hilly.
2. Billy Horschel
He is playing well and is the top Gator out there. But he never plays well at Augusta. He has been under par for four rounds only once, a one-under in 2020.
3. Jon Rahm
He is the favorite at 15-2 and this could be his year. He just has to have the flat stick working. His power can overwhelm the course.
4. Scottie Scheffler
At 8-1 he is just a tick behind Rahm, but by the time they tee off he could well be the favorite. He is also the defending champ, so would he put the green jacket on himself?
5. Rory McIlroy
I can feel it coming in the air tonight. So hold on. He is 17-2 and hopefully he can not let the distractions of being joined by some LIV golfers bother him.
