On Thursday, April 13, the Hawthorne Hornets were seeking a win against Redeemer Christian Lions in an away game in Ocala. The home-field advantage played in the Lions’ favor as they defeated the Hornets. The valiant effort resulted in a final score of 9-2.
Slow Start for the Hornets
A disappointing first inning took place for both teams. After both teams experienced strikeouts, the game moved forward into the second inning. Neither team scored a single point in the first inning.

Hornets Never Gave Up
The Redeemer Lions held their lead strong, edging into the last half of the game. Hawthorne struggled with keeping Redeemer off the bases, allowing them to snag four runs in the fourth inning alone. Redeemer held strong in response, striking out Hawthorne.
Following the fourth inning, the Lions did not score any more points against Hawthorne. The Lions continued to grab more strikeouts against the Hornets, keeping them from scoring any points.
Entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Hornets captured one lucky run to raise the score to 9-2. Despite this valiant effort, the Hornets made too many mistakes early on to secure a win. The Hornets’ defense made vital errors, allowing the Lions to score multiple runs.
Wolves On The Prowl For A Win
Despite their loss, the Hornets demonstrated determination and fought until the end. The Lions were able to capitalize upon the weaknesses of the Hornets.
