Around the NFL Week 1

Week One of the NFL regular season just wrapped up, and it was full of surprises to say the least.

Florida Flourished

All three Florida teams won this weekend.

The Jaguars came up with a 31-21 win over the Colts. The Buccaneers were able to edge out the Vikings with a 20-17 win. And the Dolphins came out of Los Angeles with a narrow 36-34 win over the Chargers.

Beat Down in Prime Time

The Dallas Cowboys dominated their division rival New York Giants in a 40-0 win.

The Cowboys’ defense was lethal, sacking Giants quarterback Daniel Jones seven times and intercepting him twice, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Other Matchups

The Browns surprised many with a 24-3 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow threw a career-low of only 82 yards and was sacked twice. Despite recently becoming the NFL’s highest-paid player.

The New Orleans Saints were able to get a down-to-the-wire win over the Titans with a 16-15 win.

Derek Carr made his debut as the Saints’ new starting quarterback and had a total of 305 yards in the victory over Tennessee.

Speaking of debuts, Aaron Rodgers officially takes the field tonight as a New York Jet when they face off against the Buffalo Bills in a Monday Night Football matchup.

The Packers were also able to get a 38-20 victory over their long-time rivals the Chicago Bears.

The San Francisco 49ers defense was impressive this weekend. They kept the Pittsburgh Steelers to only 41 rushing yards. The Steelers sacked Brock Purdy three times, but the 49ers quarterback still threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the 30-7 victory.
