Urban Meyer Talks CFB, Swamp Kings

Former Gators head coach Urban Meyer did a recent interview with Steve Russell on Sport Scene delving into college football and discussing the recent Swamp Kings documentary.

Meyers Lately

What is the latest surrounding Urban Meyer?

Well, Meyer, 59, one of the most successful coaches during his college tenure, headed out west to spend time with Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes during a team practice recently. Meyers offered his perspective on the Buffaloes football and talked about what Sanders inherited when he took over as head coach. Meyer expressed high praise for their coaching and what Sanders entire staff is capable of.

Meyer has been out of college football since 2018, and the game has evolved a lot since his departure.

This applies with the Big 10 taking players from the Pac-12, while the SEC is taking players from the Big 12.

Meyer expressed frustration with the lack of loyalty and how selfish it has become. With all these changes being made and moving at a rapid rate, this can also certainly diminish rivals between schools.

State of College Football

Swamp Kings

Swamp Kings outlines the success Meyer had with the University of Florida football program, while making a monumental leap in 2005 to 2010 into a dominant wrecking force.

The four-part documentary includes an array of interviews from Meyer and Tim Tebow, to name a few.

This documentary provided the audience a behind-the-scenes shot of that electrifying core. During the interview with Russell, Meyer’s gave his opinion on the documentary — stating how much he loved it and how it was great to see all the players communicating.

Meyer Previews Tennessee vs. Florida

A huge SEC matchup is coming tomorrow night in Gainesville, as Florida welcomes in the Tennessee Volunteers with a sold crowd at Ben Hill Griffin.

Meyer gave an insight on what to expect during tomorrow’s game.

Meyer made mention of Tennessee’s quarterback Joe Milton and compared him to former NFL quarterback Cam Newton.

With tension and excitement soaring high, Meyer made it vividly clear that, to him, this is the biggest game of Billy Napier’s young head coaching career.
