Preview

Atlanta will enter play 2-1 whereas Jacksonville is 1-2.

The matchup will feature two young quarterbacks in Desmond Ridder and Trevor Lawrence.

Ridder, 24, is still a work in progress as the third round draft pick has played in seven NFL games. Although Atlanta is not expected to contend in postseason play, they have surprised the league with a solid start.

Lawrence, 23, has not played particularly well to start off the 2023 season. Coincidentally, his receivers have dropped nine passes that should have translated into points. There is no denying the talent Lawrence has especially after the 2022 season in which the Jaguars reached the Divisional Round. At the moment, there are concerns circling around Jacksonville’s offense. However, once the the wide receivers halt the dropped passes, the team should get on track in a positive direction.

Week 3 Recap

The Falcons are coming off of a disappointing game where they were handed their first loss. The team mustered only six points against the Detroit Lions.

On the other hand, the Jaguars did not fare well by any means getting upset by the rebuilding Houston Texans 37-17.

Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson ran the ball on 10 attempts, for a total of 33 yards. The running back was unstoppable in Week’s 1 and 2, but Atlanta’s inability to run the ball in Week 3 resulted in an offense that was non-existent.

Interestingly enough, the Jaguars offense has looked lackluster over the first three weeks of the season. Expectations are high in part of star receiver Calvin Ridley being reinstated after his one year suspension for prohibiting NFL gambling policy. Jacksonville’s ferocious offense has yet to be on full display due to the team’s slow start. With the core of Evan Engram, Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, along with Travis Etienne in the back field, the Jags are set to break out into an offensive juggernaut.

Coverage

Football is back in London as both teams will face off at Wembley Stadium. Kickoff is at 9:30 a.m.
