Ole Miss just picked up its biggest win of the season against No. 4 Tennessee on Wednesday and aims to continue its late-season surge against the No. 5 Gators on Saturday.
Ole Miss Strengths
The Rebels are a very well-rounded basketball team. While many of the top teams in the country have a superstar, Ole Miss relies heavily on its depth. Six different players average double-digit points, leading to a team average of 77.7 points per game. The Gators average 84.3, so the Rebels will need to find ways to score at an abnormally high level on Saturday.
Ole Miss has thrived as underdogs this season, shocking the college basketball world with wins against top level teams like Alabama and Tennessee. This is the first time in program history that Ole Miss has beaten two top-5 teams in the same season and it will look to make it three against Florida.

Where Do the Rebels Have Difficulties?
The Rebels have struggled on the road this season, sitting at a 5-5 record going into Saturday’s matchup. The Gators are 14-1 at home this season and Ole Miss will need a flawless performance if it wants to win in The Swamp. The Rebels also struggle from behind the arc, having no starters shooting better than 40% from three. They rank in the bottom half of the SEC in 3-point percentage, which isn’t a good recipe for success in a game that has become reliant on the deep shot.
Looking at some early Ole Miss things. They’re a terrible rebounding team. They get to the FT line a ton but they also put their opponent their a lot. Allows their opponent’s to shoot a ton of 3’s & share the ball well. They’re really small, tallest guy in their rotation is 6’9”.

Gators vs Rebels Preview
This game marks the final regular season matchup of the season for both teams. This game may have way more importance for Ole Miss as the Gators have already secured the No. 2 seed in the SEC tournament. The Rebels are currently tied with No. 15 Missouri and No. 22 Texas A&M, while also being chased by No. 19 Kentucky, who is one game behind.
Ole Miss winning would also increase its chances to be a higher seed in March Madness, as ESPN’s bracketology currently projects it as a No. 7 seed. Defense will be key against the Gators, who hold the highest points per game differential in the SEC. Senior guard Sean Pedulla, who has scored over 20 points in two of his last four games, will look to outscore UF’s talented backcourt of senior guards Walter Clayton Jr. and Alijah Martin.
Tipoff is Saturday evening at 6 on the SEC Network.
