Starting pitcher Lauren D’Amore gave up two doubles and two runs in the first inning. The Wolves (1-4-1) came back with two runs of their own in the bottom half. D’Amore hit a leadoff double before both catcher Gracee Land and infielder Emily Carreras hit RBI singles.

Momentum Shift
So far, so good. The was before the second inning, when Hamilton County (3-5) got the lead back quickly in the form of a 10-run second with five hits and six walks. Pitcher Raylnn Moody hit a two-run single and a three-run double to highlight Hamilton’s frame.
The Trojans held the big lead and kept adding to it with four runs in the third, one in the fourth and eight in the fifth.
However, the Wolves had a successful bottom of the third when they batted around to score five runs. D’Amore had her third hit of the game with a two-run single and infielder Hailey Schoster also hit a two-run single to cut the deficit to 16-8.

The game simply got away from Saint Francis after it tied it at 2-2 after an inning, Wolves coach Ericka Brockish said.
“I think we just got a little lazy on defense,” Brockish said. “I think we got a little complacent thinking that that team was going to stop swinging.”
Defensively, the Wolves had their ups and their downs.
“We had some girls make some really good plays, some plays on the base path were really great,” Brockish said. “We had some tag outs at home, we had a play from third that was amazing. The defense is gonna get there.”
