Sante Fe College’s softball and baseball teams hit the field this past week as the postseason looms. While the softball team surged to an impressive sweep, the baseball team continues to grind through a challenging stretch of play.
Softball: Statement Sweep over St. Pete
The Saints softball team delivered an explosive doubleheader sweep over St. Petersburg College on April 15, winning 10-2 and 12-2. Both games ended via run-rule in just five innings. Baseball: Battling Through Conference Play
Turning to baseball, the Saints continue to navigate a demanding conference schedule. Santa Fe holds a 20-24 record, with an 11-16 record in conference play. The team recently traveled to Sarasota to face State College of Florida, where they dropped both games in the doubleheader. The Saints were shut out 9-0 in game one, and despite rallying to tie the second game, the Saints fell 6-4.
Sante Fe will aim to bounce back Thursday in St. Petersburg, with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
With both teams nearing the end of regular season, the Saints’ focus is on finishing strong.
