The Florida men’s tennis team moves on to the 2025 SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament quarterfinals after defeating Arkansas 4-2 on Thursday. The team will face No. 3 seeded South Carolina today at 6 p.m.

Gators Vs. Razorbacks
In doubles play, sophomore Kevin Edengren and freshman Ben Weintraub finished first on court three defeating Arkansas duo Brendan Boland and Arthur Bellegy, 6-4. On court one, Florida’s (14-10 overall, 8-6 SEC) No. 12 sophomore Henry Jefferson and junior Tanapatt Nirundorn lost to No. 24 Connor Smillie and Jakub Vrba, 6-4.
Arkansas claimed the doubles point on court two after Bozo Barun and Benni Emesz defeated sophomores Adhithya Ganesan and Jeremy Jin, 7-5.
However, the Gators came out strong in singles. No. 47 Ganesan tied up the scoreboard for Florida after defeating Baron on court one, 6-1, 6-3.
Arkansas secured its second and last point of the match on court two when Vrbo defeated No. 70 Jeremy Jin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
UF took control of the match with Henry Jefferson beating Bellegy in three sets on court four, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. This was followed by Niels Villard defeating Boland on court six, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6). Florida earned the win on court five when Nirundorn won 6-2, 6-7 (2-7), 6-1 against Smillie. Edengren’s match was left unfinished on court three.
South Carolina
The Gamecocks (17-6 overall, 11-3 SEC) and the Gators played each other during the season. Florida lost 4-1 at South Carolina.
South Carolina has two players ranked in ITA Singles: No. 20 Connor Thomson and No. 119 Sean Daryabeigi. They also have two pairs ranked in ITA doubles: No. 3 Lucas Andrade De Silva and Thomson and No. 50 Atakan Karahan and Jelani Sarr.
Florida sits at No. 32 in the ITA rankings while South Carolina is No. 15.
