All 3 Florida Teams Drop in Week 7 NFL Power Rankings

October 21, 2025

After a scorching start to the season, the wheels are falling off in Jacksonville. Back-to-back losses saw the Jaguars drop a league-high six spots in the Power Rankings

If the Dolphins lost again in Week 7, the expectation was that a coaching change would follow. But Mike McDaniel still has a job. Where the season goes from here will determine his future, not just with the Dolphins, but in the league.

The injuries finally caught up with the Buccaneers, as they fell out of the top spot in the Power Rankings. The team atop the rankings has lost its spot for the fourth straight week.

1. (+2) Detroit Lions (5-2)

Last Week: 24-9 win vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs got whatever he wanted against the Buccaneers defense, accounting for 218 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions now enter the bye as the No. 1 overall team in the Power Rankings.

Up Next: Bye

2. (-) Indianapolis Colts (6-1)

Last Week: 38-24 win at Los Angeles Chargers

It is time for the annual debate about whether a running back can win league MVP. Jonathan Taylor has been on an absolute tear this season, propelling the Colts to success with his production. His three rushing touchdowns this week bring his season total to 10.

Up Next: vs. Tennessee Titans, Sunday, 4:25 p.m.

3. (+1) Buffalo Bills (4-2)

Last Week: Bye

The bye came at the perfect time, interrupting a two-game skid for the Bills. Reigning MVP Josh Allen will need to step up and lead in what is now a competitive AFC East race.

Up Next: at Carolina Panthers, Sunday, 1 p.m.

4. (+1) Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)

Last Week: 28-22 win at Minnesota Vikings

It appears the Eagles can throw the football. With judgments coming from within the locker room and from the media, quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered 326 yards passing and three scores, two of them to disgruntled wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Up Next: vs. New York Giants, Sunday, 1 p.m.

5. (+1) Kansas City Chiefs (4-3)

Last Week: 31-0 win vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Kansas City got to beat up on its little brother once again. Despite playing twice a season, the Chiefs have lost to the Raiders three times over the past 10 years.

Up Next: vs. Washington Commanders, Monday, 8:15 p.m.

6. (-5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)

Last Week: 24-9 loss at Detroit Lions

The Buccaneers couldn’t get anything going on offense for the majority of the game, and it is only going to get harder the rest of the way. Wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a broken clavicle and is expected to miss a majority, if not all, of the rest of the season.

Up Next: at New Orleans Saints, Sunday, 4:05 p.m.

7. (+4) New England Patriots (5-2)

Last Week: 31-13 win at Tennessee Titans

Coach Mike Vrabel had a successful return to Tennessee. After coaching the Titans for six years, the Patriots defense recorded five sacks and forced two turnovers, scoring a touchdown off a fumble recovery.

Up Next: vs. Cleveland Browns, Sunday, 1 p.m.

8. (+1) Seattle Seahawks (5-2)

Last Week: 27-19 win vs Houston Texans

The NBA season starts tonight, and Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba got in the spirit by literally dunking on the Texans. Entering its bye, Seattle is one of the hottest teams in football.

Up Next: Bye

9. (+4) Denver Broncos (5-2)

Last Week: 33-32 win vs. New York Giants

Shut out entering the fourth quarter, it looked like the Broncos would be diving the Week 7 Power Rankings. Instead, they scored 33 points in 15 minutes, putting up the greatest comeback so far this season.

Up Next: vs. Dallas Cowboys, Sunday. 4:25 p.m.

10. (+8) San Francisco 49ers (5-2)

Last Week: 20-10 win vs. Atlanta Falcons

The 49ers continue to do just enough to stay afloat without quarterback Brock Purdy. This week was the Christian McCaffrey show, as he ended with 201 yards and two scores.

Up Next: at Houston Texans, Sunday, 1 p.m.

11. (-4) Green Bay Packers (4-1-1)

Last Week: 27-23 win at Arizona Cardinals

For all the talent on the Packers roster, they don’t look good. The loss to the Bengals still blemishes their record, as does the tie against the Cowboys. A late Josh Jacobs touchdown run and the first three-sack performance from linebacker Micah Parsons as a Packer allowed the Cheeseheads to leave Arizona with a victory.

Up Next: at Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday, 8:20 p.m.

12. (+4) Chicago Bears (4-2)

Last Week: 26-14 win vs. New Orleans Saints

The Saints fired defensive coordinator Dennis Allen after a failed head coaching stint. His defense delivered in what was an underrated revenge game. Four sacks and four turnovers forced, including safety Kevin Byard III’s fourth interception of the season.

Up Next: at Baltimore Ravens, Sunday, 1 p.m.

13. (+4) Los Angeles Rams (5-2)

Last Week: 35-7 win at Jacksonville Jaguars (London Game)

No Puka Nacua? No problem for the Rams. Quarterback Matthew Stafford set a London record with five touchdown passes, three of them to Davante Adams, who is, in fact, still really good at football.

Up Next: Bye

14. (-6) Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)

Last Week: 33-31 loss at Cincinnati Bengals

For the 12th time, the Steelers had no answer for Joe Flacco. The Bengals quarterback beat the Steelers, and no amount of firepower from quarterback Aaron Rodgers could keep Pittsburgh afloat. The combined age of the signal callers in this game was older than Tom Selleck. Let that sink in.

Up Next: vs. Green Bay Packers, Sunday, 8:20 p.m.

15. (-3) Atlanta Falcons (3-3)

Last Week: 20-10 loss at San Francisco 49ers

The Falcons continue to wrestle with whether they are a good football team or not. Right after beating the Bills in primetime, they lose to the 49ers … in primetime. A home game with the lowly Dolphins next week will clarify nothing.

Up Next: vs. Miami Dolphins, Sunday, 1 p.m.

16. (-6) Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)

Last Week: 35-7 loss vs. Los Angeles Rams (London Game)

Just like London Bridge, the Jacksonville offense was falling down. One big play to wide receiver Travis Hunter allowed the Jaguars to score points, but that was it. It seemed as if the Jaguars saw the scouting report for the British fans. They punted five times and forced five punts, giving the fans at Wembley Stadium a taste of fútbol at their football game.

Up Next: Bye

17. (-3) Washington Commanders (3-4)

Last Week: 44-22 loss at Dallas Cowboys

While getting destroyed by a division rival is never the best feeling, a hamstring injury to quarterback Jayden Daniels makes it that much worse. Now Washington has to travel to face the hottest team in football, potentially without its leader in the huddle.

Up Next: at Kansas City Chiefs, Monday, 8:15 p.m.

18. (+1) Minnesota Vikings (3-3)

Last Week: 28-22 loss vs. Philadelphia Eagles

With J.J. McCarthy’s ankle injury lingering for a suspiciously long period of time, quarterback Carson Wentz got his chance at a win against his former team. He threw for 313 yards, but also had two interceptions in the loss.

Up Next: at Los Angeles Chargers, Thursday, 8:15 p.m.

19. (+3) Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1)

Last Week: 44-22 win vs. Washington Commanders

Welcome back, CeeDee Lamb. The wide receiver’s return from an ankle injury came with fireworks, including a 74-yard touchdown. The Cowboys may need to score 35 points a week to win games, but the offense is showing it has the talent to pull it off.

Up Next: at Denver Broncos, Sunday, 4:25 p.m.

20. (-5) Los Angeles Chargers (4-3)

Last Week: 38-24 loss vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Chargers home loss led to the fans throwing banana peels on the field. Wait, that was just the Chargers jerseys. With the Minions theme fit, they followed Colts running back Jonathan Taylor all over the field as he ran for touchdowns.

Up Next: vs. Minnesota Vikings, Thursday, 8:15 p.m.

21. (-1) Arizona Cardinals (2-5)

Last Week: 27-23 loss vs. Green Bay Packers

The upcoming bye sets up for Kyler Murray to make his return in Week 9. The quarterback’s return will be celebrated by everyone except tight end Trey McBride, who has developed quite the rapport with Jacoby Brissett. McBride has four touchdowns on the season, three of which came in the two games with Brissett.

Up Next: Bye

22. (+1) Carolina Panthers (4-3)

Last Week: 13-6 win at New York Jets

The Panthers have a winning record. Whether this is the Bryce Young experiment finally producing results or a weak schedule will be quickly revealed as they host the Bills, who are fresh out of their bye.

Up Next: vs. Buffalo Bills, Sunday, 1 p.m.

23. (+2) Baltimore Ravens (1-5)

Last Week: Bye

The Ravens being on a bye meant they couldn’t lose this week. The fact this is being said about the Ravens is shocking, but they need to string together some wins quickly. A bright spot is that the AFC North is playing like the worst division in football.

Up Next: vs. Chicago Bears, Sunday, 1 p.m.

24. (-4) Houston Texans (2-4)

Last Week: 27-19 loss at Seattle Seahawks

It was back to the struggles of the beginning of the season for the Texans. They were unable to run the football, rushing for 56 yards as a team. The bright spot was tight end Dalton Schultz, who caught nine passes for 98 yards.

Up Next: vs. San Francisco 49ers, Sunday, 1 p.m.

25. (+3) Cleveland Browns (2-5)

Last Week: 31-6 win vs. Miami Dolphins

Rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel got his first win of his career, and survived the elements. The Browns leaned on their strengths to get the victory. Rookie running back Quinshon Judkins rushed for three touchdowns and the defense forced four turnovers.

Up Next: at New England Patriots, Sunday, 1 p.m.

26. (+4) Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)

Last Week: 33-31 win vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Throwing the ball to the best player on the team isn’t a difficult concept. No one has done it at the level Joe Flacco did Thursday night. Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase saw 18 targets, catching 16 of them for 161 yards and a touchdown.

Up Next: vs. New York Jets, Sunday, 1 p.m.

27. (-3) New York Giants (2-5)

Last Week: 33-32 loss at Denver Broncos

Kicker Jude McAtamney may have had to walk back to New York after that loss. He missed two extra points in a one-point loss. The defense also gave up 33 points in the third quarter. An all around masterclass in how to lose a game.

Up Next: at Philadelphia Eagles, Sunday, 1 p.m.

28. (-2) New Orleans Saints (1-6)

Last Week: 26-14 loss at Chicago Bears

Chris Olave continues to be the shining star in the black hole that is the Saints. The wide receiver caught two touchdowns, the only two scores for New Orleans.

Up Next: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sunday, 4:05 p.m.

29. (-2) Las Vegas Raiders (2-5)

Last Week: 31-0 loss at Kansas City Chiefs

Chiefs coach Andy Reid has been a head coach for 27 seasons. This was the first time he shut out a team in the regular season. The Raiders finished with 70 yards passing and 25 yards rushing, with quarterback Geno Smith contributing 67 of the passing yards.

Up Next: Bye

30. (-1) Miami Dolphins (1-6)

Last Week: 31-6 loss at Cleveland Browns

There is not much to say about the Dolphins. McDaniel still has a job as of today, and rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers got to play. Get ready for next week.

Up Next: at Atlanta Falcons, Sunday, 1 p.m.

31. (-) Tennessee Titans (1-6)

Last Week: 31-13 loss vs. New England Patriots

Not losing next week will be fun for Titans fans. Perhaps the offense will find another gear coming out of the bye. Former UF standout Chimere Dike caught his first career touchdown.

Up Next: Bye

32. (-) New York Jets (0-7)

Last Week: 13-6 loss vs. Carolina Panthers

It is hard to find where the first win will come from for the Jets. The Bengals offense looks better with Flacco than it did with Joe Burrow, meaning what previously looked like the perfect opportunity to break out of the winless depths instead looks like another L in the ledger.

Up Next: at Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, 1 p.m.
